The Declaration of Internet Freedom, which was launched earlier this year by a diverse coalition of open Internet advocates, has been signed by more than 2,000 organizations and companies. And the names keep rolling in.

This week, yet another member of Congress — Rep. Chellie Pingree of Maine — joined Reps. Anna Eshoo, Darrell Issa and Jared Polis and Sen. Ron Wyden in adding her support.

Rep. Pingree joins a global array of signers who have signed on in the last few weeks — groups like the World Wide Web Foundation (whose founding director, Sir Tim Berners-Lee, created the World Wide Web), the Azerbaijan Internet Forum and Bangladesh NGOs Network for Radio and Communication.

The fight to keep the Internet free, open and accessible continues to gain champions here in the U.S. and around the world. As Internet freedom continues to be debated everywhere from the International Telecommunications Union to federal courts to Congress, we have to continue building a coalition to fight for our right to communicate online.
