Round Two for the Web We Want
The Web We Want campaign, a collaboration between Free Press and the World Wide Web Foundation, recently announced its second round of small-grant recipients. As with the first round, winning applicants come from around the world and are on the front lines of a range of important issues.
A number of organizations received grants to help them investigate state surveillance programs in Australia, Mexico, Peru, Serbia, South Asia and Ukraine. Other organizations received grants to launch rapid-response campaigns countering online attacks on women, LGBT communities, human rights defenders and others.
We’re continuing to offer rapid-response grants on a rolling basis to organizations or individuals facing unexpected crises or strategic opportunities pertaining to digital rights. Go here for more information.
